This was an excellent thoughtful and thought provoking book about life, living and perspective wrapped inside a super fun story-telling premise. The gist of the story is that our main character, Nora, gets to experience her “parallel lives” to “fix” her regrets — the choices she wishes she’d made differently. What she learns is that every little choice, big or small, has a ripple effect out into the world. And also that nobody is excused from the human condition. The reader watches her experience the lives of “what if...”. What if she hadn’t quit swimming in her teens? What if she had married the man she was engaged to? What if she had stayed in her brother’s rock band? What if she had pursued her childhood dream of becoming a glacier scientist? What if...

At some point, everyone succumbs to the temptation of longing for what might have been. Some people dwell there. This book does an excellent job of showing us that living with our eyes only on the past means that we lose our ability to imagine and create a healthy happy present (and future). Highly recommend this to all readers.

(Content warning: this book has a character with suicidal thoughts).
