The Magician's Assistant

"Nothing links person to person like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
I found this story rather sad about the circumstances itself …..but I was also delighted by the ways things unfolded.
I enjoyed getting to know the main and supporting characters: Dot, Kitty, and Bertie, (the Fetter’s family who lived in Alliance, Nebraska),….
and was inspired by the transformation of Sabine - (discovering her own voice, her own identity, and that the ingredient of love really is magical). As always, Ann Patchett delivers a completely unique story.
A wandering book -- the karma of literature!
