I got this hardcover at a local Dollar Store. It's about a woman who had starred in a cult TV show and is now taking her son on a cross-country trip to reunite with his estranged father - visiting fan conventions along the way. Sounded like fun, but it's... very odd, from the mostly-present-tense/third-person storytelling to the shifts of viewpoint to some magical-realism (or surrealism, or simply wild imagation). I wanted to be drawn in, and wasn't - but perhaps someone else will enjoy it.
