8th Printing. On the cover of this book it says the Los Angeles Times calls 'The Wild Boys,' quote, "Burroughs' most accessible book since 'Naked Lunch.'" I would have to respectfully disagree with whomever at the LA Times wrote that review. While I enjoyed it very much for what it is (the epitome of Burroughs' stream-of-consciousness style, and a 180-page contemporary political, social, and sociological commentary), it is best left to those who have read (and quite importantly, enjoyed) Burroughs' work in the past.
That said, I have read and dog-eared this book a few times, and plan to re-read it many times in the future. It's a good book to revisit in slumps of creativity, as it expands or exercises areas of the mind not accessed on an everyday basis, even in the escapism of fiction.
