The books arrived safely today; many thanks! This one looks really fun, what with a heroine who bosses around sea monsters with which to battle pirates - how cool is that?
Later: sometimes-rollicking, sometimes-dark adventure with pirates, the taming of gigantic sea beasts, and an unexpected attraction between a kidnapped trainer and one of the pirate crew, which... does not go well. Intriguing world-building here!
