I got this softcover from a local Goodwill thrift shop. It's a collection of short stories that each delve into the hopes and fears of the characters, with some tragic plot twists and some delightful ones. I like the way the author sketches the characters, settings, and relationships, from "Love is Not a Pie" - in which two siblings learn that their parents are actually in a happy and loving three-way relationship with another man - to "Silver Water", about a woman's relationship with her very troubled sister, a gifted singer but something of a lost soul.

I left this book in the Little Free Library inside the mall; hope someone enjoys it!
