I really loved this book. A bit cheesy at the end but after everything that was going on pre-trial it was quite a relief! The story was actually inspired by the WPA's (Works Progress Administration) librarian program that run from 1933 to 1943 bringing books to thousands of inhabitants living in the rural locations of Eastern Kentucky. These arduous journeys were all undertaken by women on horseback in all weathers. What gutsy ladies.
