I have bought this to pass on but here's what the cover says
Never forgive, never forget. That's Jack Reacher's standard operating procedure. And Francis Xavier Quinn was the worst guy he ever met. He had done truly unforgiveable things. So Reacher was glad to know he was dead. Until the day he saw him, alive and well, riding in a limousine outside Boston's Symphony Hall.
Never apologise. Never explain. When Reacher witnesses a brutal attempt to kidnap a terrified young student on a New England campus, he takes the law into his own hands. That's his way after all. Only this time a cop dies, and Reacher doesn't stick around to explain. Has he lost his sense of right and wrong? Just because this time, it's personal?

Thank you very, very much, MarianFrench - a wonderful Easter Bunny present.
In a bookshop, a lady saw me browsing among the Deaver books and suggested I try this author; I've only read one by him so far and found it extremely good, so I'm really looking forward to this one!
Thanks again, and Happy Easter.

I enjoyed this very much, but did find it a little brutal in places. I found this strange, because I read quite a lot in this genre and the actual violence seemed rather less gruesome than in many other books. I think it's the way it's described - there's little 'packing' of the descriptions, so just the bare words come across. Also, the current unpleasant death is kept at the forefront of the mind as the events leading up to the 10 year old death are detailed in flashbacks throughout the book.
Thanks again, MarianFrench.
