Previously registered a copy of this book, here is my review from 2007 :-
"This was an amazing story of hope. Dr Catherine Hamilton and her husband Gordon were certainly miracle workers for the women of Ethiopia. I knew nothing about the Fistula victims – caused by difficult labours which generally resulted in dead babies. The tradition of young girls being married far too young in a country where medical assistance is difficult to obtain, is extremely sad. I was very moved by the doctor’s life-long commitment to this medical ministry. I think their strong faith helped them greatly in their work and was surprised to read that the author was still doing the fistula surgery when she was 77 years old"!
Dr Catherine Hamlin was the NSW nominee for Australian of the Year in 2018 at the grand old age of 94.
