She reads widely ( JR Ackerley, Jean Genet, Ivy Compton Burnett and the classics) and intelligently. Her reading naturally changes her world view and her relationship with people like the oleaginous prime minister and his repellent advisers. She comes to question the prescribed order of the world and loses patience with much that she has to do. In short, her reading is subversive. The consequence is, of course, surprising, mildly shocking and very funny.

Bevor es wieder freigelassen wird, sollte allerdings noch ein englisches Label in das Buch. Ich hatte leider keinen zu Hand. Werde den Text noch Google übersetzten, da meins sehr schlecht ist :D

Released while having Christmas

A wry imagining of the Queen's new found love of reading. A perfect size to take to Stewart Island next week for the Unconvention on Stewart Island. I wish I could read the earlier comments.

Planning on reading this and releasing it elsewhere on the island!

A fun and quick read, I did enjoy the interaction of the Queen with Norman and also the way being a ruler made doing things for yourself so difficult (eg finding time to read, going to a library, enjoying a hobby).
