The Game of Kings
1 journaler for this copy...
The first book of a deep and wonderful six-book historical fiction series about a young (extremely well-educated, womanizing, deeply feeling, and often very funny) Scottish nobleman trying to recover the evidence that will clear his name, remove him from being an outlaw who supposedly betrayed Scotland to Henry VIII, and restore his place in his family. In aggravating his good but disapproving older brother, trying the patience of his subtle mother, and chasing an elusive set of missing documents all over the country (followed by an increasing host of folk after his blood), he gets both the English and the Scots mad at him all over again and is often his own worst enemy. In the end, his fate rests in the hands of several women and a final desperate game of cards.
