Just bought this today. It's one of Heather's Picks. So far, each one of her picks that I've read has been excellent, so I'm hoping this one will be as well. Plus, I'm hoping to learn a little bit about life in Afghanistan.
What a sad story!! I still can't believe people are living like this in 2004. It really makes you appreciate the freedom we have here in Canada. I cannot imagine being a woman living under those conditions.
Although I thought the book was interesting and very educational, it didnt't "grip" me as I thought it would. Perhaps I simply had too much on my mind when I read it (upcoming maternity leave, house hunting, etc.). But all in all, it's well worth the time and effort required to read it.
