I love books about bookstores, books and readers so I looked forward to this with high hopes. I liked the first half very much, when it was the friendship of the two women. When the love interest was introduced it became a bit predictable.
I read it on the heels of The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald - both about bookshops in small towns. They couldn't have been more different and I liked The Bookshop much, much better.

I will leave this in the Post Office in Wolcott, VT - a small town about the size of the one in the book. I'll leave it on the counter in the lobby.
