This was a very random book - very strange, although it had it's moments. One bit in the book encouraged me to think about travelling alone rather than in a gruop as I've always thought it would be terrible to travel alone. In an attempt to summarise this book I will simply use the back blurb:
"What is fiction? What is autobiograohy? How do the two meet?
What is man? What is woman? How do the two meet?
What is violence? What is happiness> How do the two meet?
Yann Martel wrote Self, his first novel, to try to answer these questions."
This book had some beautiful scenes and some boring ones - it was a book of contrasts, I think I shall have to read it again.
