Dead in the Water

Bought from a charity Shop in Moreton-in-Marsh, Cotswolds.
Read in March 2021:
July 1923 and Daisy has been invited by an American magazine, to cover the Henley Regatta. there she steps right into the class war between two members of the Oxford rowing team. Bott, a shopkeeper's son has always been treaten bad by the Honorable DeLancy. Alec Fletcher of Scotland Yard and Daisy's fiancé was to meet Daisy for a romantic weekend but then, there is no time for romance. They have to solve the murder on DeLancy.
I think the book started quite slow but maybe all the rowing stuff was not mine. Later the story got more interesting and guess who killed DeLancy...
The book counts for efell's reading challenge 2021 for # 19 (water or fire)

Thanks for this sweepstakes book and its companion - as well as the cute owlish postcard!
I've read Miss Daisy novels before but not this one. As winter is dragging on, there sure will be time for Miss Daisy and a pot of tea soon ;-)
