I've read many of David Eddings books, including all of the Belgariad series. This is the first book, that I've seen at least, where his wife Leigh has co-authored with him. She has certainly given it a more "authentic" woman's attitude. In fact, there are places where Polgara is entirely too full of herself and denigrates men in general, and her father in particular. While I would have found this offensive if someone told me such sexist things in real life, I found it entirely within the scope of Polgara's autobiography.
