Paul Kemp moves to San Juan, Puerto Rico to write for the local newspaper and it quickly drawn into the underground of news reporting, which includes continuously functioning in a drunken stupor and get-rich-quick as schemes. I enjoyed the gritty, fast-paced feel of the novel but felt the ending feel flat. Although, all good things must come to an end and that is exactly what happened to Paul Kemp.

I finished this book on the plane ride to visit dabercro and will be leaving the book with her.

Saw the movie, heard Hunter S. Thompson speak at Montana State University in the 80s(he even took my question), but think I will pass on this one.
