One of the first books that absolutely captured me as a young person. The first time I read this was in hardcover with the line drawing illustrations and maps. In 1975 this book was still pretty much under the radar, this is a must read for any young person. Adventure, humor, superb writing, welcome to Middle Earth and Thank You JRR Tolkein.
