This book has been sitting on my shelf for far too long - so I am including it in my release challenge today. With any luck someone from my local WI will pick it up - read it - and return it to our book sale so I can read it in the future!

I was taking a friend for a visit to Salcey Forest to investigate rumours of a cafe and to have a short walk. Unfortunately, (or perhaps good fortune shone upon us) it began to rain, far too heavily to anticipate even the shortest of walks and so we settled for tea and cake.

Whilst enjoying our tea and watching the rain sile down I investgated the magazine rack and discovered the Luanne Rice book 'Home Fires' just waiting to be taken home. At first I couldn't believe that I could simply take the book home and read it, but then I remembered that I had recently read an article in a daily newspaper all about books released into the wilds of the world and was really excited to be able to take part in such a mammoth venture.

Even so I felt that I couldn't just take it, furtively hiding it under my jacket and so I told the lady behind the counter that I had found it and took it home promising to read it as soon as I had finished reading my current book.

I am making this entry whilst taking a break from reading this engrossing book, it is day 2 and page 149. Wow, what a book! Whilst reading I've been experienced tears but a strange affiliation that seems to be generated from the words. I don't want to finish reading the book, not really, but I know that it needs to be living free so that others will experience the excitement that I felt on my first discovery of a travelling book.
