The story of Artemis Fowl, child prodigy and master criminal. An interesting combination of science and magic, although somehow this book didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Thanks so much for sending this book out so quickly! The Rose and the Beast will be on the way to you today!
Artemis Fowl is the story of a child genius born into a family with a history of villainy, who hatches a plan to steal gold from some very technologically advanced fairies. It's essentially a crime/action story, with a bit of humorous banter thrown in for good luck.
I'm not convinced it lives up to the hype that has surrounded it since publication. I found it quite readable, but it didn't grip me, and I did think it was a little over-smug about its own cleverness.
Ready for release.

Book have not run wild, found it hiding on my bookshelf, so going to read it next before it hides again.
A clever book about Artemis attempting to steal gold from the fairy. Some good humer throughout the book which I enjoyed, and definatelly liked Mulch, just would not get behind him. A good read kept me wanting to know what would happen next.

Received from Cartref today. It's a sneaky book this one, might fly away along with my new wings thenkyou Cartref). I'll weight it down with my TBR pile, there is no chance of it escaping then.
Really enjoyed this childrens book, wish I had the money and brains of Artemis, I am sure I would do more good with it.
