This well-read book has finally been read by me too. I had hear that it's a wonderful book, and indeed it is! This is the stuff I love to read; a crossover between SF and fantasy, with intriguing and wonderful characters and even more interesting societies. It's one big adventure trip. Pure reading-pleasure.
I'm happy to see that this is actually the first book of a trilogy. The other two volumes are "Majipoor Chronicles", and "Valentine Pontifex". I hope to read them too, but I don't expect much surprises except spending more lovely reading time.
