I read Dave Eggers' first book, "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius", and loved it. I bought this several months ago and only now have had the opportunity to begin reading it. I'll journal after I've finished.
Unlike Dave Egger's memoir, this book seemed to wander and obsess in self-important tangents. I found the abrupt change in character and and narrative mid-way through the book distracting.
There were, however, redeeming qualities. The reflection of the main character on junior high dances, white broncos and two twins named Mo & Thor are hilarious and insightful.
