About as epic as epics get. This civil war door stop gifted the world with the most famous break up lines ever.... ive not seen the film and even i know those immortal words! An enjoyable read if you can bear the sexism, racism and colonnialism which meld together here. A book which is very redolent of its time but it will probably shock modern readers that these attitudes were put into print.
