I loved this series. Harry Turtledove writes alternate history, and this series is set in the middle of WWII. Everyone is busy fighting everyone else, when lizard-like aliens invade the planet. Considering we had only had powered flight for under 40 years, an alien landing was far beyond any technology on earth. Suddenly, all people of earth have to try to get along to defeat the ones they see as a greater evil. Are they right?
There are those who side with the aliens. Those displaced by the Third Reich choose to side with the aliens (could you blame them?) -- for a time. This is the second book in the series.
