Wonderful book! I loved the characters, loved the world, and especially loved the pantheon of gods. One of those books you can't put down. Don't want to say more in order not to spoil anything for others. I also find it very impressive that Bujold can do fantasy as well as she does space opera.

Sending this to Myntti, so I can then loan her Paladin of Souls, which is off with a non-BC friend now. Both are equally involving, but Chalion is better-written, IMO.

Chalion is a believable world and the characters feel like real people.
I didn't want this book to end!

Received back from Myntti today - along with a wonderful postcard! We are obviously not just kindred spirits in reading taste. :) (It was the messy room with computer, in case you can't remember which one you sent.) Paladin is still with the friend, but I'll get it back sometime or other.
