Dr Alex Delaware tries to find out what happened to the Mother of a patient that he treated 8 years ago.
Arrived today. Thanks, Sal! Off to the mount for the time being, sadly.
Another fascinating, compelling read from Kellerman. I don't know why everyone insists his wife is a darker writer; that denouement was plenty dark.
Turnabout's fair play; I'm RABCKing this to someone who just sent ME a RABCK. Enjoy!!!
Ha, ha what a great surprise on a rainy Saturday! Quite crafty of you westofmars! I will enjoy this when I read the series.
I finally got to this book in the series. Kellerman is quite prolific - this is book 5 of 22 Alex Delaware novels and I don't think the series has ended yet. I generally enjoy his work in part because it takes place in Los Angeles, where I live, and it is fun to hear him describe places I know. There is no San Labrador in reality, but he describes it well enough to make it seem real. Ditto for the last book where he inserted a made up town between two real ones.
I liked this book. It had a lot of deep twists, and as westofmars notes, it is pretty dark. I did not guess the ending at all, or much of the back story that get revealed. As with many of his books, I did think this was a bit long but that wasn't a big deterrent. I like the blend of psychology and police work, but he does tend to get a little heavy with the feeling stuff.
I'll be passing this along.

Thank you for sending it! Happy 4th!
