This book tells a story of a skeptic merchant in the time where most people believe that the apocalypse will dawn on the world soon. It is a very entertaining story, with beautiful phrases weaved together by the merchant in his diary, making it very enjoyable (which then makes the book unable to be categorized into light reads). I often saw contradictions between his views against what is going on around the world, as well as against the actions he takes. Quite confusing at times, but then again, this book questions faith itself; not faith as a religion, but faith as what we truly believe and what we practice.
