Jack is five. He lives in a single, locked room with his Ma.
An uncomfortable read but highly compelling, and in the end uplifting. Donoghue has managed to capture the combined naivety and wisdom of a five year old beautifully, and the contrast between Jack and Ma's experiences of Room is poignant, even if we never get to see things from her point of view. I highly recommend this book.

Thanks sweetiepie.
I value DJgib's opinion and, had I finished this book, might well concur.
But I found 44 pages of this enough. Maybe because, having read the Natascha Kampusch story, I didn't need a novel on a similar subject.

On its way to Anne-Elliott.
