This is the story of Beryl Markham who, although born in England to English parents, spent most of her life in Kenya where she was a horse trainer and author; in fact, she was the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean from London to North America. She later had a brief career as an author and wrote the delightful book, West with the Night. She was quite a colorful character but at the same time, rather sad.
