Isabelle is the wife of a prominent Parisian banker who is presently in an empty marriage. For years she has been taking care of her very ill son & her teenage daughter. She allows herself one secret pleasure: a long distance friendship with a Washington power broker who like Isabelle is trapped in a deadend marriage. Their friendship is a lifeline that sustains them both through the heartaches of life and marriage. They agree to meet for a few days in London & find that their friendship is changing into something more. Then a sudden crisis occurs that changes their life paths & they have to find the strength to make very difficult life choices.
I enjoyed this book a great deal. I feel it was one of the author's better novels in the last few years.Sometimes when we have to make life choices unexpected results will occur.

This book was better than the typical Danielle Steel novels. Entertaining with no strings attached.
