"Working in a world where a college degree qualifies her to make photocopies and color-coordinate file folders, twenty-four-year-old Girl is struggling to keep up with the essential trinity of food, shelter, and student loans. So when she finally lands the job of her dreams she ignores her misgivings and concentrates on getting the job done ... whatever that may be."

The resume of the book and the cover got my attention. It seemed a nice read but it turned out to be an average one. I had the impression that in this book, everything was a cliché, none of it was original. Okay, I do get it that chicklit is filled with clichés – I’ve read my fare share of it – but this one has more of them than in those I already read. What could have been a fun story turned out to be one of not so much fun and interest. The anxious and insecure girl is too much – that’s what Girl is; the people running the company are either too feminist or too self-centered, and the lover is simply the typical guy which cannot seemed to be able to balance friends and a girlfriend. Definitely not read I was anticipating – I only finished it because I wanted to see how it would end!

This came in the Cross Canada Book Box and am interested in reading this one so it will be stopping here longer than usual.
Well I finally got to this book in my Mountain TBR pile. I read it pretty fast. By the same author as the Nanny Diaries. It was okay.
