Sandra Day O'Connor grew up on a very isolated, remote ranch on the Arizona/New Mexico border in the 1930's. This is a rich chance to get a glimpse into ranch life, without electricity or running water, miles from the nearest town or even the nearest neighbors. Justice O'Connor describes family life on the ranch, the role of the traditional cowboy, and especially the importance of the precious commodity of water.

Although the tone of this book is slightly pedantic, I'm enjoying it -- for all the reasons I listed above; plus Justice O'Connor is the only Supreme Court justice I know personally ;o)

Not sure how I got this book; I thought it was a RABCK, but couldn't find it as a registered book on my Bookshelf. If it shows up on any wish lists, I'll send it out as a RABCK to an interested potential reader.
