I likes history, and a short introduction is perfect, not that i'm time-poor particularly, but so many books so little time! ps. good picture Trevor :)

(29/01/13) I tried to persevere with this. But, despite it being a 'Very Short Introduction', I still found parts of it dry, dull & un-engaging, not helped by the author's overly-complicated language and sentence structure. This is how not to write history i'm afraid :(
