Rivers of London (Rivers of London 1)

Not a bad idea and starts off full of promise but for me this was not really sustained. Perhaps it tries to do too many things in one story. Worth reading though but I doubt I'll continue the series, or at least not yet.

The Layer Fox Pub in Layer de la Haye, Essex United Kingdom on Thursday, May 17, 2012
Released 11 yrs ago (5/17/2012 UTC) at The Layer Fox Pub in Layer de la Haye, Essex United Kingdom
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I thought this book was going to be a lot better than it eventually turned out to be - in my opinion. I'm still not entirely sure whether there was one story or two separate ones - a murder and a power struggle. And at times it seemed as though the author was trying very hard to make two become one. Try it yourself.

As others have said this starts off really well but tends to get a bit ragged towards the end. I found it an entertaining read though and it should appeal to anyone who likes Neil Gaiman style modern fantasy. I will certainly try to get the next book in the series as it has the potential to be a first class read if the author manages to improve the detail in his plots.

Picked up at the Blue Egg Bookcrossing meet where I ate too much but had a lovely time chatting to other booky people. This book appealed to me as Ardachy said it had a Neil Gaiman floavour to it and I like books based in London.
