There is a fire and they are in There. They are in there . . .
Black smoke stains a summer blue sky. A school is on fire. And one mother, Grace, sees the smoke and runs. She knows her teenage daughter Jenny is inside. She runs into the burning building to rescue her.

When I read 'Sister' I couldn't see what the fuss was about until the end of the book. In fact for most of it I kept thinking this is well written but awfully slow at showing why people rave about it so much. Not so with this book though. Quite early on you realise that there is more to this book than stated on the back cover and the story takes on two levels. There is the all consuming whodunnit which throws up so many maybe's that it turns the novel into a real page turner. I thought I had it solved at page 83, just now how and why only I was far off the mark lol. A big part of this story concerns family relationships and the hierarchies between different family members and how you can wrongly judge the people closest to you and how family ties are thicker than other ties. I admit this ending of this novel made me shed a few tears. There could only be one satisfactory ending to this story and it wasn't entirely a happy one. All I want to know now is when is the next RL novel coming out!
