Fall on Your Knees ( Oprah's Book Club Selection )

Compelling, disturbing, a story that stays with you and makes an impression on your psyche. I am not normally a fan of any Oprah picks, and didn't know it was until now, but it was a well-regarded book in Canada and I happened to find it in a remote, out-of the-way place, where reading material was short. I'm glad I did. A good, allabsorbing book to travel with, if not a mood-lifter.
One of my favourite novels. I recommend it to anyone who's willing to take on a multigenerational, multiracial, dark, slightly twisted, haunting, and completely beautifully written tome. I first read it a few years back while camping at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. I came across this copy at my place of a work (a public library). I'll read it on my way to Los Angeles!
