Extended Profile
I am an Asian female married with 2 stepkids. I come from Malaysia and my hubby is from Minnesota. We love to read eclectic books ranging from Science Fiction to essays, poems, mysteries, cookbooks and occasionally some modern romance. I also enjoy Asian
American Literature and attend a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Church.
The all time favorite book that my husband and I have read is "THe Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell. The book is multilayer with good writng, plot, character development and insightful detailed description of making first contact with a new civilization. I had a copy from the library and was reading it on the bus and people will come up to me and share their thoughts on what a great book it is.
I am looking for a copy of that book to release to friends.
My husband works in Customer Service and I am currently working in the fragrance industry. We collect fragrances and books. We love to host exotic food parties. The last exotic potluck we hosted, I served JellyFish Salad, 1000 year eggs and yellow sticky/glutinous rice among other things. Next month he is throwing a 50th birthday bash for me with another exotic food potluck. This time, I will be serving Chicken's feet in hot peppers, trotters in sweet black vinegar and peanut sauce with rice cubes.
Our friends support our passion for hot sauces and one July 4 we turned up the heat with a hot pepper party and brought out 20 different hot sauces to accompany our bbq. The hottest sauce we have tried to date includes Dave's insanity sauce, The Inferno BBQ Sauce from Hot Wings in Dallas, FT Worth(now defunct resturart), Liquid Fire Triple X Hot Sauce from Old Man Gourmet of Sint Marten and Siricha Rooster Hot Sauce from Thailand.
