The cover art says "Lettuce entertain you!", but these are not all punny stories: some of them are pretty creepy stuff..and some are just odd. Many of them are memorable, and some of them might change the way you think about certain vegetables!

Publisher's Note: As those who doted on his Retief stores know, Keith Laumer was a man who delighted in his own genuinely twisted sense of humor. Though he left us before he could complete Dangerous Vegetables (to say nothing of Again, Dangerous Vegetables or even Last Dangerous Vegetables), this is his book, and we hope, wherever he is, he likes how we finished it for him.

This collection of short stories was a lot of fun to read. I liked some more than others - and my favorites were:

The Potato (left me with a feeling of melancholy)
No Harm Done (pretty terrifying in a Twilight Zone kind of way)
Pumpkin Head (would make a good story to read around the campfire)
You Say Potato,I Say......Trouble (kind of strange, not really sure why I like it!)
Pumpkin (never thought of pumpkins as creepy, but now I will)

I will release this for:
