This is a collection of the wisdom of the Sioux, Pueblo, Hopi, Navajo, and other native peoples to show how we can create our own sacred ecology. Beginning with a fascinating inquiry into the true story behind Chief Seattle's famous ecology speech, David Suzuki - internationally renowned author and TV host of "The Nature of Things", envionmental activist, and award -winning scientist - writer Peter Knudtson have juxtaposed the "wisdom of the elders" alongside the ideas of some of the wisest and most respected scientists of our time in a stunning synthesis that provides a blueprint for saving our planet.

Thank you so much BellaMack for sending me so many wonderful books from your shelf. I am looking forward to this one for I love reading these sort of stories, and I love David Suzuki too. (We went to hear him speak a couple of years ago, when he visited Perth.) It might take a while before I read it as Mt TBR is terribly high! I will be back with more, in time ...............

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I have held this book hostage for ages without journalling it and I am now about to set it free on a journey to the other side of Australia .... it will travel by plane with a certain someone who has been eyeing it for ages. I know she will enjoy it. This is a powerful book. We have much to learn from the environmental philosophy of the indigenous people of the world. We have only one earth and we must look after it ....
