Book Survives Convention, Water and Hungry Sea Gulls!

March 29, 2005
D.H. Lawrence said, "Water is H20, hydrogen two parts, oxygen one, but there is also a third thing that makes water and nobody knows what that is." Skyring, the intrepid Aussie BookCrosser has over and over identified what that missing element is: A BookCrossing Book!

You may recall his successful water release of Blackwater a while back. While on the Mystery Bus Tour at the fabulous New Zealand Convention, he repeated his special technique to release The Secret of Santa Vittoria. His casting a book upon the waters was almost foiled by a hungry sea gull! Many of us followed the adventures in the book journal or on the Site Watch and Conventions and Meetings forums.

While the photo-journalism of gull vs. book is marvelous, the best part is, the book was caught! (Either that, or the New Zealand gulls are really clever and know how to log on to BookCrossing....)
