Extended Profile
I am a retired grey nomad since I am no longer travelling around oz with my Tibetan Spaniel. She died in 2010 and I grew roots in 2011! Until then I had been travelling arou d Oz full time for 9 and a half years. I am writi g this entry from Prince Edward
Island in Canada where I am catchi g up with friends from my past as a part of a round the world trip.
Reading has been a lifelong pleasure which I like to share when I can. Bookcrossing helps me to liberate my books and keep them in circulation in a more interesting way than simply leaving them behind in caravan park laundromats etc. I love discovering book exchanges, especially honour based ones but good ones are few and far between. They rarely include books which appeal to me although there have been a few exceptions.
Another pleasure is talking about books during casual encounters with strangers who are also travelling.
A new pleasure for me is listening to audio books on CD's but unfortunately they are expensive. When we are out of radio range, the single available program doesn't appeal or I or can't stand the trivia a "talking book" is a boon. Now this is less of an issue than it was since I am living in the city and not driving long distances. My current vehicle has provision for an IPad / I Phone but I am not sure how to get audio books going. Recently I have started reading on my iPad which will probably reduce my bookcrossing activity.
