It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

Thank you for visiting the Pet Loss Library. We here at the library sincerely extend our condolences to anyone who has suffered the heartbreaking loss of a pet. We understand how difficult this is to handle and hope that the books we have on our shelf will be able to bring some comfort. Any bookcrosser is welcome to "check out" a book from the Pet Loss Library. In order to help insure that there are books available in times of need, we ask that borrowers restrict their borrowing to a maximum of two books at one time. (This may increase as our shelves fill up.) We understand that recovery is a long, difficult road and, therefore, are hesitant to put any kind of restriction on how long a book may be checked out for. All we ask is that borrowers return the book as soon as they are done with it in order to make it available for others. After a month's time, a representative of the library will be in contact to check on the status of the book.

Some websites that may offer comfort and/or guidance as you wait for your books to arrive:
PetLoss.com
HomeVet.com
Find Info: Pet Loss

And thanks to Staxman for this link to an excellent article about the decision to euthanize an ill pet. Article

Donations are welcome!! Duplicate copies are also welcome so as to help increase the chances of a needed book being available! Here is our wish list, but please remember that ANY books on pet loss will be gratefully accepted. Also note that wishes will not be crossed off unless we have multiple copies in the library. Wish List Please PM with any questions.

I STOOD BY YOUR BED LAST NIGHT

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... in the
stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.
