Friends Update: effective May 16, 2005, my friends list is made up of people I have met in real life (IRL). I thought that might be fun to track!

I don't trade; please don't ask. I prefer not to be sent journal-type bookrings for which I did not sign up.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
--Edmund Burke

I never kept track of what or how many books I had read until I joined BookCrossing. Now I think it's fascinating to track them. Click the year to see the books I read or attempted to read in:

Fun Forum Threads (or: Why I Participate in the BookCrossing Forums): (in no particular order)
1. They help me decide if I want to read a book (click here for info on The Horse Whisperer)
2. Site Watch can encourage you if you think your book will never be caught (click here for a story about 2 years and 5 months in between release and catch)
3. People in different-from-your language forums are friendly and helpful too. Click here for a thread that warmed my heart and made me tear up. You'll even hear a Dutch BookCrosser singing!
4. If you ever wondered what to call the significant others in another BXer's life, click here.
5. Not a forum conversation, per se, but my article on why BookCrossing should win a Webby (they did!).
6. Things I learned from BookCrossing

Visit the CurvyZoneOBCZ! This is the Official BookCrossing Zone I maintain :)

Special thanks to yvi-1, TexasWren and BrynnSC for all the HTML help they have given me and other bookcrossers. These three links are all I've ever used to do anything beyond plain old black and white on my profile. You can do it too!

Thank you for visiting my bookshelf! I reset my counter on January 11, 2005, so that only unique "hits" count, meaning you and this many people (below) thought I was crazy enough to check out since then :) Free Web Counterxyz.freelogs.com/---/index.php?... />

A Special thank you to FlyLady for recommending BookCrossing as a great way to "get rid" of books! Check out her site -- her main thing is "de-cluttering", and BookCrossing was one of the things she recommended. I clicked on the link and never looked back!
