I love to read a lot of different things, but this seemed familiar somehow. It really wasn't original. The character of Clary readdly did seem was too perfect and too much like Harry Potter.

Secondly, its a bit cliche to make the main character have a evil father who's off to slay the world. I can not say every book is better but most are.

Finally, about the comment where Jace and Clary are related, the other should of seriously thought that through.
