The book arrived today, thank you for sending me this!

I liked this book and today I took it to a BC meetup at Helsinki Book Fair.
Being a country girl at heart I have a soft spot for country style homes and decorations so I was happy to find this book at the special book fair meetup in Helsinki today. Thanks kasenka, it was nice to meet you again.
After receiving this book I have been blessed to find a country home myself so this book has been a cherished inspiration for the decoration of our new home that lies ahead in this spring and summer.
I'll take this to our local meet-up now to see if anyone else would be interested in these ideas.

2012 Keep Them Moving # 11
From today's meetup at Main Library Metso.
I love interior design and am forever looking for new ideas for our house, currently rather an eclectic mix of old and older... I'm picky, though!

I am picky, and frankly, this booklet rather failed to inspire me. Cute, admittedly, and easy; but I normally go for another kind of ease. Eye candy for me would mean more of a revamped, witty ease rather than authentic Shaker revival... As much as I love period rustics, I started craving for an odd touch of industrial/urban here and there for contrast, to add a deliberate layer of humour beyond the mere romanticism and period fashions.
I did love the part on the English cottage, though: how delightful and picturesque both inside and out! Also, I learned something new here. My vision of a traditional thatched-roof cottage has been mostly Shakespearean, altered only after reading The Spell by Hollinghurst (where it was featured as renovated and inhabited by a middle-aged architect and his boyfriend. What a nest!) I have never visited one and never seen pictures of a cottage interior before; and I must say I was surprised at how small the windows are and how low the beamed ceilings. Even while reading Hollinghurst, I never pictured the rooms quite as cloistered. Now I guess I must re-read the novel AND re-envision my dream interiors for this house type!

I love the idea of circulating books about interiors via bookcrossing, and I'm already looking forward to reading more comments on Easy Country. I'm taking the book to Thursday's meetup at Main Library Metso.
I took the book from the meetup and probably give it to my mom. She loves country style!
