I really enjoyed this.
Even the idea of it was fun. I even hunted down some of these songs. Way, way, way fun.
I recommend reading it and drinking Sangria.

Thank you so much for this book wodfest! I have been wanting to read it for a long time. Very interesting song listings in the contents page, can't wait to get into them. I am liking the sound of the chapters "She Hates Me, I Hate Her" and "I Mope, Therefore I Am"!

I love this book! Okay, I read it a little while ago now and am just getting to my journal entry now, oops. So many songs, so little time. Out of all the songs included in this fantastic book, I had only heard of 22 of them. Loved loved loved the chapter "She Hates Me, I Hate Her" - with Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division - Ian Curtis was such a sad story) and In The Air Tonight (Phil Collins - I always believed that tale about him witnessing a drowning as well!). My "favourite" song blurb in here is probably Total Eclipse Of The Heart (Bonnie Tyler) - the author totally nails the craziness of this song. A sample: "Total Ecipse begins creepy, turns disturbung and ends up totally psychotic". "Listening to it is like an opera company bludgeoning you with copies of Anne Rice novels". Brilliant! My only criticism - I probably would have selected another Cure song rather than Prayers For Rain, but there are too many to choose from. A terrific book.
