Picked up from the Salvation Army family store in Greymouth... I think earlier this year.
This collection is about Australians in Japan and was published in 1994 after a call for essays from the Australia-Japan Research Centre.
I have never been to Japan but it is a country that fascinates me so I plan on visiting one day. This collection has encouraged me even more to want to see Japan (I think once I finish my course and start working I will need to save to travel).
I thought LilB might like to read this one so will see if she wants it at the meetup tonight. If not it is free for anyone who wants it to take.

Domo arigatou, alkalinekiwi-san!
Having lived in Japan for so many years, I am never completely satisfied with books about it- they are either very superficial or unbelievably esoteric.being a collection of experiences of different people, this is a pretty good mix of the two. It was enough to make me Japan-sick anyway!
