In this extract from Original Sin Mandy Price, a temp, takes a job at a prestigious London publishing house, only to be present at the discovery of a suicide on her very first day.
This is an Adam Dalgliesh story, and unfortunately it ends rather abruptly. I've read a number of Penguin Pocket 70s, and generally they are self-contained stories, but this extract ends just as things are getting interesting. Still, I supposed the point is to get one to read more of the author's work, and as such it's done the trick: I'll be looking out for the novel to find out how the story continues.
