Journal Entry 4 by Plum-crazy from Brighouse, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, February 18, 2008
Well, this was certainly different to what I usually read.
I thought I was going to find it heavy going & would struggle with it, the writing even looks "dense" on the page, but it was a fascinating read.....& all the more frightening for being a truelife account.
One of the cover's comments is...
"...Capote's brilliant reconstruction of the events & consequences of that murderous November night in 1959, is a superb & gripping mix of journalistic skill & sheer imaginative power"....& I totally agree with that!
Well this book is the last book needed for me to complete my "Broaden My Literary Horizons Personal Challenge". Thanks go to Londonlife(or csc23 as she was then!)& ibis3 who suggested I read it & to pinkydinky for rabcking it to me.

Thanks to Plum-Crazy I am starting the journey through the 1001 books to read before you die, with this book, when I have finished I will make it available for the 1001 Library.
I will admit to being a little worried about starting this book, it definately wouldn't be something that I would have picked up myself, however right from the first page I was hooked, it was an enticing read and I really enjoyed it, despite the subject of the book and the fact that is was based on true events, there were lots of details on all of the people involved.
This book counts towards my '1 autobiography per month', I know technically it isn't an auotbiography but I felt that it was written as a collective autobiography from all invloved (if that makes sense!)
This book will now be registered as part of the 1001-library for others to enjoy.
Thanks to Plum-crazy for passing it on, I will be selecting my next 1001 read soon.

Thanks 24-7-365Reader! I'm looking forward to this.
Having seen two film adaptations of this story, there were no surprises for me in this book, but it was an interesting read, if a bit slow.
This book is now back on the 1001 library bookshelf and can be borrowed by PMing jaynereader:)
