It's a real wrench to let this book go, but there just isn't enough bookshelf space right now. Apart from one shockingly violent part, I LOVED reading this book. It was laugh-out-loud funny, a pleasure. One reviewer called the main character "A Jersey girl with Bette Midler's mouth and Cher's fashion sense".

I'm also registering the sequel, and will see if there's any interest in sending out the two of them together as a ring or ray. [The series continues long after the first two books... I've got some others which will also be registered and released, but I don't have the whole series in order, so will probably only keep books 1+2 together.]

This is now a book-ray (European-only at first), together with the sequel. The rules are as follows:

1. Journal the books when you get them, so we know they've arrived safely.

2. Please try to finish both books within 6 weeks. If the reading unexpectedly takes longer, just please journal so we are updated with the situation. Also of course please tell us what you thought of the books.

3. PM the next person (check that the list hasn’t changed) to make sure they’re still interested and to get their address. If you don’t hear back in one week, then please PM the *next* person.

4. PLEASE KEEP THE BOOKS TOGETHER. Send them to the next person on the list (surface mail is ok), and journal once more to say that they are in the post. Thank you!!

So far the participant list looks like this, but it may change so please check back:

1. elhamisabel (Germany)

2. aneca (Portugal)

3. Kanapoutz (France)

4. Brujula (France)

5. kbudgie (Malta) <------ books are here (stalled?)

6. ktwalker (UK)

7. lapin-blanc (France)

8. penelopewanders (Switzerland)

...

The book went in the post today, to elhamisabel. [Economy rates - likely travel time is 8 business days.] I tried to take a picture, but maybe it will only disappoint when I say the package is the one furthest to the left, not the beautiful one just next to it with the Albert Edelfelt reproduction on it!

Recieved it together with Two for the Dough in today's mail. Will read it as soon as I have finished another bookring that I'm currently reading.

Thanks very much!

I finished this on Sunday. I loved this book! It's so great to read such a funny and entertaining story! I like Stephanie Plum's 'nightmare' very much! He's great!
I couldn't resist and started book two straight away. I'm nearly finished with that as well.

Journal Entry 6 by aneca on Monday, February 13, 2006
It just arrived, I promise to read them asap. Thanks

JUst finished it! What a funny story, I loved Stephanie and Morelli and I'm wondering what took me so long to start this series. Off to read the second one!

Got the books today, in a very nice envelope!

It's just a perfect week-end read! I'm not as enthousiastic as the previous readers, but still, I really enjoyed it, and was quite surprised by the ending? Stephanie Plum is an endearing character, there's just one thing I don't really get : how is she supposed to be THAT sexy with the crap clothes she's wearing (and turquoise eyeline? Pleaaaaae!)?
Really liked Morelli, and I find him quite irresistible too...

Journal Entry 10 by Brujula from Valenciennes, Nord-Pas-de-Calais France on Friday, March 17, 2006
The book arrived safely in Belfort with number Two!
Thank you!

I finally got to reading this book... And I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Some suspense, lots of humour.... It's exactly what I needed!
I'm readin the second one now and should be ready to mail both books next week.
Thank you for your patience!

As of tomorrow, these books will have been stalled/missing for a year. Penelopewanders has asked to join the list, and reminds me that kbudgie has been a reliable participant in the past. So, kbudgie, if you've still got the books, please send them on their way. We'd love to see this ray get going again. Thank you. :)

UPDATE (same day): kbudgie has PMd today to say she hopes to get the books in the mail soon. Great news!
